About us
The Sălaj area has a long tradition of vineyards and wine, but the trends of climate evolution and the progress of viticulture and winemaking make the future for this vineyard very promising.
This was the reason why we decided to plant grapevines on the sunny slopes of Camar, a village at the foot of the Magura Simleului.
The grapevines are cultivated at the edge of the forest, where the area offers a panorama of the entire valley. The cellar, with a unique architecture, was built of stone and covered with earth. It has the shape of the letter "U", with two entrances - outlets, each side having 25 meters.
Cultivated area: a total 33.5 hectares, of which 27.5 planted in 2012 and 6 hectares planted in 2015.
Soils: forest brown, podzolic, acidic, clayey in substrates.
Exhibition of the plantation: southern
Grape varieties: Fetească Regală, Italian Riesling, Muscat Ottonel, Traminer, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Fetească Neagră, Cadarcă.
Philosophy
NORDIC OUTPOST OF VITICULTURE
The geographical positioning along the 47 northern latitude parallel and the daring ambition to produce wines in a cool climate are the defining elements of the Fort Silvan project.
Fort Silvan thus represents the "fortress" that defends the northern limit of Romanian viticulture.
Our vineyards are grown in a cool climate at the northern limit of viticulture, beyond Parallel 47, where grapes reach maturity and accumulate flavors much slower.
The resulting wines are complex and balanced with high acidity and a pronounced mineral character. This makes them ideal for serving alongside the most varied dishes that emphasize their flavor.

Initiation
Visiting the vineyard, cellar visit – tasting the wines from 6 stainless steel tanks, scones included– Price: 450 lei/group (45 lei/person). Duration: 45 minutes
Within the framework of the initiation program, you can visit our vineyard and while tasting the wines from stainless steel tanks, you can walk around our cellar and taste our scones. If the weather is good, we can also organize the wine tasting on our outdoor terrace. It is also excellent as a team strengthening program, fun is guaranteed.
2. Curiosity
Visit to the vineyard, visit to the winery - tasting of wines from at least 3 barrels of wine or stainless steel container (depending on availability), followed by the presentation and tasting of 6 bottled wines, accompanied by homemade scones - Price: 850 lei / group (85 lei / person). Duration: 60 minutes
During the program you visit the vineyard, you can walk through the winery tasting the wines and you can try our locally ripe grapes. Weather permitting, wine tasting can also take place on our outdoor terrace. Excellent as a program for strengthening team spirit, fun being guaranteed.
3. Explorer
Visiting the vineyard and winery - wine tasting from at least 3 barrels of wine or stainless steel container (subject to availability), followed by the presentation and tasting of 6 bottled wines, cheese platter - Price: 950 lei / group (95 lei / person). Duration: 90 minutes
During the program we visit the vineyard, we briefly present the viticultural past of the Camar region, we tour the winery. Tasting the wines (+ repeating the tasting of a chosen wine) you can also try our locally ripened grapes. Weather permitting, the tasting can also take place on our outdoor terrace. Excellent as a program for strengthening team spirit, fun being guaranteed.
4. Gourmet
Visiting the vineyard and winery - tasting of wines from at least 3 barrels of wine or stainless steel container (subject to availability), followed by presentation and tasting of 6 bottled wines (+ repeat tasting of a selected wine), dinner Goulash in a kettle or Kemsilvanum plate - Price: 1600 lei / group (160 lei / person) Duration: min. 2-3 hours
During the Gourmet program we visit the vineyard, during the tasting (+ repeated tasting at the end of the program of a chosen wine) we present the past and present of the vineyard and the traditions of the Camar region, we tour the winery. Live music is available on request for a fee. Weather permitting, the tasting can also take place on our outdoor terrace. Excellent as a program for strengthening team spirit, fun being guaranteed.

On request, for the walk in the vineyard, we can provide the winemobile. Cost 400 lei/group.
By prior arrangement and for an additional charge of 300 lei over the requested option, we welcome groups of 10 people or more on weekends, public holidays or for wine tasting including dinner.
